If you have been searching for an economical, workhorse, semi-auto shotgun then you have come to the right place. Just released by CZ-USA is the 1012 12 Gauge Semi-Auto shotgun. This gas-less gas-less inertia operating system is more reliable and proven than typical run-of-the-mill gas-operated shotguns. Without getting too technical 1012 uses a spring that is housed in the bolt that stores energy during the recoil operation. Then the spring uses the stored energy just a moment later leading to the extraction and ejection of the spent shotshell hull.

Additionally, the inertia system doesn’t require as strict of a maintenance schedule as gas guns. During CZ’s testing of 1012, they were able to run 5000 rounds without oil and cleaning. During that test, the gun performed flawlessly with zero broken parts and zero malfunctions. So during normal field use with cleaning and oiling, you can rest assured that your 1012 will perform.

Moreover, this shotgun was tested with light recoiling 2-3/4″ target loads all the way up to heavy 3″ magnums, and the performance was exceptional. 1012 was able to cycle and run the vast majority of shotshells on the market except for Winchester Featherlite (23/25 oz at 980 fps) on the light side and Remington HyperSonic (1 1/4 oz at 1700 fps) on the heavy side.
